FAST – Foundation for Athletes and Sport Training

FAST is the only organization in Canada whose sole mandate is to support the developing athlete pursuing the dream of making a national team.

FAST champions dreams.

FAST gives annual awards directly to developing athletes across the country. These awards help them on the journey to qualifying for a national team by putting them on the FAST Track to success. To demonstrate sustained commitment to the dream, FAST will support these athletes until they make the national team.

FAST also works to create meaningful, sustained impact for developing athletes with its research, advocacy and education work. What developing athletes need most is a society that values and supports their contributions so that there is a sustainable funding base and infrastructure to foster their development, and to nurture their dreams.

FAST does this because it takes years from the birth of the dream to its realization. In those years athletes, their families and their coaches must devote hours of time, resources, and energy to feed the dream. FAST believes these dreams are important. They are important to the dreamer, and to Canada. Without those dreams, there can be no medals. FAST wants the next generation of athletes to succeed.
